It was year 1969 when the Department of Economics came into existence at this College. Since its inception, the department is committed to maintain highest standards of scholarship and research. It has earned a reputation for qualitative teaching. Special attention to the regularity, punctuality and sincerity of a student in class is given. The Department has a support system of Computers, Photostat Machine, Internet, LCD Projector which are accessible both to the teachers and students. The department regularly organizes seminars to give exposure to the students. Along with teaching, the Department encourages student’ participation in academic programmes and extra-curricular activities.

The Department of Political Science came into existence in 1969. Currently, it offers teaching at intermediate and UG level.

The Department of History was set up in 1969. It is one of the most sought after subject at UG level in the college. Unfortunately, there is no permanent faculty in the dept. at present.

The Department of Home Science was set up in 1969. This subject is of practical importance and hence is very popular among female students at UG level.

The Department of Sociology was constituted in 1969. The dept. is engaged in providing scholarly knowledge of the subjects to the students at UG level.
